Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery

Joshi Hospital Pvt Ltd is first hospital to introduce the robotic joint replacement surgery at taluka level in whole India.

The robot has been honored with the name "Vithu" (Lord Vitthal).

Joint replacement surgery involves removing worn or damaged cartilage from a joint and replacing it with artificial components made of metal and medical-grade plastic. These implants function similarly to a natural joint and help restore movement and relieve pain.

Although many joints can be replaced, the most common procedures involve the knee and hip. Advances in surgical techniques and improved implant materials have made joint replacement one of the most reliable and successful procedures in modern orthopaedic medicine.

Robotic joint replacement surgery further improves precision and alignment, increasing the long-term success of the procedure. Replacement surgeries can be performed for the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle and elbow joints.

Knee Replacement

Knee replacement (knee arthroplasty) is a surgical procedure performed to replace damaged or worn knee joint surfaces with artificial components made of metal and plastic.

The surgery may be performed as a total knee replacement or partial replacement depending on the severity of joint damage. It is commonly recommended for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other degenerative knee conditions.

Hip Replacement

Hip replacement surgery replaces a damaged hip joint with a prosthetic implant to relieve arthritis pain and restore movement.

A total hip replacement involves replacing both the acetabulum (hip socket) and the femoral head, while hemiarthroplasty replaces only the femoral head.

Elbow Replacement

Elbow replacement surgery involves replacing the damaged elbow joint with artificial components known as prosthetics.

The artificial joint consists of metal stems connected by a hinge that allows bending and movement similar to the natural elbow joint.

Shoulder Replacement

Shoulder replacement surgery removes damaged parts of the shoulder joint and replaces them with artificial components called prostheses.

It is commonly performed to relieve severe arthritis pain and restore joint movement when non-surgical treatments are no longer effective.

Ankle Replacement

Ankle replacement (ankle arthroplasty) is a procedure in which damaged surfaces of the ankle joint are replaced with prosthetic components to restore movement and reduce pain.

Compared to ankle fusion surgery, ankle replacement helps maintain joint mobility while providing pain relief for patients with severe arthritis or joint damage.
